Krabi - Chiang Mai
The national carrier, Thai Airways, will start a new route from 1 December 2008, flying directly from Chiang Mai to Krabi.
The three times a week flight will provide a welcome link between two of the most popular destinations in the kingdom, with many tourists spending a week in the north before heading down to the beaches in Krabi.
Flights will operate on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday and flight time is just under two hours, greatly reducing the previous journey time of 4 + hours, with the transfer in Bangkok.
